How the Pixel Pitch Distance Calculator Works

Understanding the relationship between pixel pitch and optimal viewing distance is crucial for selecting the right LED display for your needs.

The Rule of Thumb: 1mm pixel pitch ≈ 1m viewing distance

This simple rule means that for every 1mm of pixel pitch, the optimal viewing distance is approximately 1 meter. For example, a P2.5 display (2.5mm pixel pitch) would have an optimal viewing distance of about 2.5 meters.

The closer you are to an LED screen, the smaller the pixel pitch needs to be to maintain image quality. Conversely, for greater viewing distances, you can use larger pixel pitches, which typically reduce costs.
